| OAMPS,
GFA's insurance broker, has informed the GFA Executive that they have
negotiated with QBE, and have agreed to insure vintage gliders based on a 20%
discount on the standard hull and liability rates.
The discount of 20% was struck based on the fact that
while vintage gliders are generally flown for less hours than a standard
glider, they also are generally more expensive and time consuming to repair in
the event of an accident.
The
20% discount will be on top of the 7.5% discount already agreed for individual
owners this year so in effect the rates are discounted by 27.5% over the
current prices.
The
GFA Executive hope you will agree that this is a good option for vintage glider
owners and OAMPS looks forward to providing some quotes for the owners in the
coming months.
